Hidden Treasure (SPOILERS)

With 2.0, there are new items to be found.

If you engage in the Bala Gi missions, you find a supprise besides the M7. But this only appears during that mission set.

What I'm talking about, are static Finds that, if you searched hard enough, would net you a pretty haul.

So for you Explorers, read no further. This post is not for you.

But for the rest, who have a hard enough time dodging laser blasts, here is the information you need to succeed. :D

First off, a Ship. For those who have the Need for Speed bug:
Spoiler
Show
Starburst - Freedoms Reach - (1128, 36181, 43285)
Next, those who love missiles, we have a gift for you as well:
Spoiler
Show
15 Wildfire FF - Heretics End - (25706, 17845, 32345)

If you play the Plot, you may want to pick these up before the end, or you'll die trying.

These beasties have the same tracking system as Tempests. As such, you don't need a target to fire them, and they'll track any enemy in range. In fact, there has to be an enemy in range before they'll fire. And they won't necessarily track the target you have selected if the enemy is within 5k. And if their target dies before they run out of fuel, they will select the next nearest victum
Finally, for those pulling their hair out trying to find the new weapons mentioned:
Spoiler
Show
Concussion Impulse Generator: this is a shock cannon that can push fighter ships around. It has a couple other uses, but I'll let you find those out for yourself.

Family Rhy - (35065, 12085, 4)
Senators Badlands - (-1521, 11542, 8974) - (location varies because of rock, use ADV Sat to locate)
Merchant Haven - (0, 50087, 0)
Light Water - (7953, -5250, -13644)
Black Hole Sun - (12753, 4050, -7869)
Priest Pity - (31093, 5050, 26754)
Bala Gi's Joy - (-35171, -8625, -37581)
Unknown Sector (by Patriarch's Retreat) - (-39421, 890, 1121)
Cloud Base North West - (32103, -35512, -25656)
Xenon Sector 597 - (-62546, -17250, 22730)

The above containers have 2 CIG's each.
All coords above are in meters. To get the K, divide by 1000. :D

Have fun.

So these things vanish after you finish Bala Gi? Or am I misunderstanding? If so  I guess I'll have to reload an old save or something.

No, the items I listed are persistant, from 2.0. The ones I mentiond in that quote are items that only appear when you do the mission. They don't go away, but their not there all the time.

I've copied the Op here and used bits of it, for a Version 2 guide I'm trying to put together in a hurry. To go into the version 2 of the Handbook, which has suddenly had its priority increased.

Let me know if this is NOT ok with you. (I'm assuming it is).

I tried to find the

but there was nothing there in either one

I remember a couple of the crates in my game were not there either
Spoiler
Show
one of the CIGs I think in Priests Pity and the microchips in patriarchs retreat
Still plenty of other stuff to get!

The hidden crates are not called hidden for nothing.

You have to be within 200 meters to see them or have them show up on your scanner. And this is in all 3 dimensions. Just a few meters too faw in 1 dimension, and you dont see it.

Best to get the ship to fly to the exact co-ordinate, with only one of them .1 off (so you dont hit the container). Let the ship stop, then look.

in that case, time to go look again.

and flying to one side is unessisary, just fly direct to point, and open you cargo doors about 3k out.

Also, how can you get your ship to move to such a precise location, whenever i try, i can never get the cursor exactly on what i want, is there someway to restrict the cursor movement to .1k increments?

The co-ords on the right of the nav map are in .1 increments, just move the cursur until they read what you want them to.

i try that, but even if i just tap numpad 8 to move the cursor up, it move up by anywere from .4 to 1km, same for the other directions.
Spoiler
Show
Edit: I managed to get to exactly 31.1 X (closest to 31093) 5.05 Y (right on 5050) and 26.7 Z (as close as possible to 26756) in priest pity and still nothing

Shift the nav map in or out until a change is just .1.

Some sectors are too big, so you may need to zoom the map in a bit.

Does anyone know if these containers are in XTC as well?

ah. Sorry about reanimating the dead, but i couldn't find a post from recent times regarding this, nor was it in the guides in the guide list thread.

If there are other, good sources for TC info, I will happily assimilate if pointed toward them.

Don't be sorry, just don't do it again.

And if you can't find a recent thread on something, start your own.
