hmm. i made a script package from your ams script myself without any errors. works in-game, too...A dJ wrote:Sorry, it seems I'm the only one running in to BUGs
My readme file does not get autosaved with my package script (paths are correct ofcourse) filename= "G:\..cut..\Advanced Mineral Scanner - Readme.txt". Looks like it can't have any spaces (tested).
made packages for all the scripts i use so i can organise them better...
i've not actaully tryed it with spaces, ill have to have alook at that, no reason y it shouldn't workA dJ wrote:Sorry, it seems I'm the only one running in to BUGs

Edit: Minor typo fix.
Well, if it would be possible to enter a download url into a package description file, every scripter could keep hosting his files whereever he wants and the script installer could check with a http head command...should work
But it would implicate to separate the package description file from the actual package and letting the user download only the package description files.

im actaully already planing to do that
once i get tthe auto update working for the program, ill make it work for the scripts themselves too
how i was thinking of doing it, was to just put another file with the package file, that can be placed on the webserver, this file contains the version and name of the script which the program can read to check for an update
allowing the program to auto update all the script currently installed

Beta Test
ok, anyone who host scripts, i have a beta version for ppl to test, it has an package update checker, so it can check if theres a new version of the packages avaialble.
In the Packager, you need to set the webaddress where the package can be downloaded from, this is without the file name, that gets added later by the program, just the directory its in on the webserver.
The packager will create the package file, as well as an update file SCRIPTNAME.dat
the update file goes on the webserver along with the package file
Then theres an option in the installer to check package updates, it will only display those packages that are installed and have the webaddress set, check the ones you want and click "Check Now!" for the program to check for updates
can get it here http://ircwhore.co.uk/x3/scripts/XScriptBeta.rar
it doesn't install the updates yet, just checks for avaialble ones
let me know if you find any bugs or anything
Cheers

Both are uploaded:

http://home.arcor.de/Naffarin/StationTr ... 1.2006.spk
There is no real difference, just autosaved twice with a new version the second time.
