*Description*

- This adds two scripts, one destroys the targeted object with a single press of the assigned hotkey.
- the second Captures the targeted object with a single press of the assigned hotkey.

you can assign the hotkey from the 'controls' menu in-game.
    • Destruct Hotkey works on:
      • - Ships
        - Stations
        - 'Roids
        - Station Debris
        - anything you can target :wink:
    • Capture Hotkey works on:
      • - Ships
        - Stations
    • Repair target Hotkey works on:
      • - Ships
        - Stations
    • Repair Me Hotkey works on:
      • - Your current ship
    • Destroy incoming missiles Hotkey works on:
      • - any missiles aiming at you

Cycrow made the destruct hotkey for me so i could get through mission 2 :oops: i have really crap FPS in this mission :gruebel:



Credit to Cycrow he wrote it for me :wink:

Either its really really late and i cant see crap or im going mad trying to assign a key to this script.

Could you by any chance show a step by step screenshots of how you assign a key to this one in particular?

I have not tried it yet myself, but is it the case like the other scripts where you assign a key through the CONTROLS in OPTIONS.... extra commands come listed at the bottom in one of the options in the control screen.

i can (i'd rather not :P ), but in the mean time try this:

"options"
"controls"

tap left to change the tabs, you want the "interfaces tab"
go rigt to the bottom it is named "destruct target"
highlight it + press "enter"
"add control"
+ press "enter"
press the desired hotkey to use
"apply"

Excellent thanks man, looked through it yet i didnt notice it was there, mind you i was looking through the other tabs mainly. Excellent and fast replay thanks again.

if it is lag your after ..

than change this line;

003    $Target -> destruct: show no explosion=[FALSE] 
to say this;

003    $Target -> destruct: show no explosion=[TRUE]

the difference;
the first one does show an explosion ..
the second does not ...
(and explosions eat FPS)

I think you should have named it the "Death Button". :D

One question, does it work on asteroids? The big/minable ones?

I think it's crap when there's a clump of 10 4-5 yield 'roids in a prime spot for a complex. I'd rather make them "go away" and replace them with something more suitable for my use. :)

I still haven't messed with the asteroid script yet, trying to make it debit your account for each one you create. I'll mess with that tonight. I've got plenty of beer and time to kill before the bar. :D

Give them a Hornet, then just plonk the station right on top of what's left. No bother.

I don't know if it's my being a noobie, I've tried using the Destuct hotkey script in Mission 2, but it still don't help, even if I get rid of all the approaching pirates, either by blasting them or using the hotkey, my ship still explodes and the game ends. :evil:

Can you help me? Am I doing something wrong? :?

hmm don't know why that happens :?

perhaps you need to kill a certain amount of them yourself??? can any one else confirm this?

Just as a follow up, following the instructions earlier in this thread I changed the destruct hot_key to show the explosions. Whether it was that or maybe I'd improved but anyway I got through mission 2, with a combination of shooting and the destruct hot_key, on the first attempt today. :)

i think what needs to be done is to hit the target with a shot then blow it up with the script, and then it is registered as your kill :wink:

will the god engine (or wotava) repspawn the ships??

i say ships as when i installed 1.4 some military ships seem to have lost their way....about 60 of em in 2 clumps.

they are floating in space, i can com em...shoot em...but they never move. they can fire but they cant turn so unless i fly in fromt of em they cant hit me.

i could shoot em all but by then ill be enemy of the universe :D

i want em to come back but atm they are buggered. dont ego wanna know this stuff??? :cry:

the only bugger is ill have to activate the editor in my unmodded game to do it...oh well :(

hey i just thought...ill lose rep with this as well wont i???
