LV is such a pita, it's easier for me to add this to the list myself but I'll make him do it.

The question is when I'll add it though

Do you need to have a copy of X2 registered to get the MCSI Handbook?

I have X3 registered in my profile but get access denied.

Printer-Friendly Stylesheet

Post by DesertEagle » Fri, 12. May 06, 19:06

I don't know if this is helpful to anyone, but I like to print scripts out on a black and white laser printer and go through them line by line. I modded the xml stylesheet (x2script.xsl) slightly to facilitate this.

You can find it here:

x2script.xsl

Thanks Stevio! Maybe I can try doing something with fonts and italics to make it better. Will look at that today. Also, I guess I need to wrap the text on the horizontal as it runs over the edges in place right now.

Cheers,

Hi, is there any "how to do" file that explains how to translate mods and scripts from a language to another?
i'd like to translate some script / mod in italian. (after permission of the owner of the scripts/mods).

translation is done by editing the text files.

just open the files in the t directory and edit the text to the other language.

then you need to rename the file to use the language code.

ie, a file 440001.xml is english for the text file 0001.
to change it to german, u rename it to 490001.xml and edit the first line where it says language id="44", to language id="49"

ps: for italian it is 39

if its just got a cat and dat file, its likly the text files are inside that, u'll need the mod manager to view it and extract it

i extracted them and found 2 txt files. IconData.txt and Tfactories.txt
it is all written in english (but the mod was german). I think there is nothing to translate.

no, it extracted only 2 folders: dds and types.
In de dds folder there are gui_master.dds and gui_radar.dds and in the types there are the 2 text files IconData.txt and TFactories.txt

no other files or folders.

If a mod modifies the gui then it only modifies graphics and no text, as such there's no need to translate it
